To celebrate the release of their latest album ‘The Guessing Game’
Cathedral have announced 6 live shows in late April / early May 2010.
Taking in England, Scotland and both Southern and Northern Ireland
these dates will represent the bands first headlining tour since the
Doomed Trinity package of 2006. Keeping in the Cathedral tradition of
delivering the best possible touring package they can, the band are
proud to announce the addition of Tokyo’s heaviest sons of Sabbath
Church of Misery and the Orthodox Doom meets True Metal powerhouse
that is Indianapolis's The Gates of Slumber. ‘The Guessing Game’ a
Double Album which stands as Cathedral’s 9th full length release will
hit the shops on April 29th 2010. Again, produced by Warren Riker
(Down, Crowbar, The Fugees) and recorded at Chapel Studios in
Lincolnshire ‘The Guessing Game’ marks perhaps the most dizzyingly
eclectic, eccentric and fascinating album they’ve yet committed to
posterity. Cathedral’s frame of reference has always been a unique
one, yet here their curious and captivating sound takes on new
dimensions, fuelled in equal parts by a fiercely anti-establishment
imperative borne from punk rock origins, and a skyward reach gleaned
from a longstanding devotion to the most outré and rewarding realms of
progressive rock, folk and psychedelia. A 78-minute, 13-track
double-disc set magnum opus, ‘The Guessing Game’ fuses the expansive
ambition of the most ornate gatefold double-album with Cathedral’s
trademark marriage of incandescent ire and monstrous riffage.

Polish legends Vader will hit Dublin's Whelans as part of one of their now famous 'Blitzkrieg' tours on Thursday 4th March. Peter and co are touring in support of their current 'Necropolis' album, out now on Nuclear Blast Records. Support comes from Sweden's As You Drown and the UK's Divine Chaos.

As part of a short 2 week European run, Bolt Thrower will return to Ireland on Sunday 2nd May. The 'Bank Holiday Barrage' will happen in Temple Bar's Button Factory on the bank holiday Sunday and will feature the mighty pairing of Bolt Thrower and Rotting Christ alongside Ireland's Morphosis, Overoth and 1 more band TBC.

Swedish Black Metal kings Marduk will make a long awaited return to Irish shores on Tuesday 2nd February when they play Whelans on Wexford St. This show comes as part of their world tour in support of their current 'Wormwood' masterpiece. Main support comes from the UK's Anaal Nathrakh and their fellow Brits Artisian and Zebadiah Crowe will open the evening.
